In Between Days

The days in between Christmas and New Year are usually the most awkward time of the year for me. First, I will be occupied preparing Christmas Eve dinner. After that, I will be submerged in a sort of weird stillness on Christmas (which I no longer celebrate) and Boxing Day. As it gets closer to the last days of the year, the stress of having to buy correct New Year’s gifts creeps up on D and I. Before you know it, one must prepare for New Year’s Eve and the day after. Then there are those pesky trio-continental accounts which I need to inspect, analyse, balance for the old year and prepare for the new year. Last but not least, I get this end-of-year guilt of having to connect with people that I have managed to neglect for yet another 365 days! Argh… the in between days!
