This afternoon, D and I went to Poperinge for the Beer & Hop Festival. First, we waited by the street to watch the triennial hop-themed parade. After that we went to a free photo exhibition about the Chinese Labour Corp of World War One. It was enlightening yet sobering to learn about the Chinese labourers who were here during the war. Last but not least, we went to Lekker Westhoek for some local beers and dishes. D and I were a bit disappointed by the limited food choices this year, but I am happy to have come across a very good triple beer known as Driope 8.
